Norman Finkelstein to Tehran Times: Israel, “satanic” and “lunatic” state……”

On January 31 2009,  Finkelstein,  a recent featured panelist at  “Whither the Levant…” co-Sponsored by the Middle Eastern Student Studies Initiative at UC  Irvine,  had this to say in February 15, 2009  interview with the Tehran Times:

“Israel is committing a holocaust in Gaza: Norman Finkelstein

BRUSSELS — According to Finkelstein, Israel, a state built on the ashes of the Holocaust, is now committing a holocaust against Palestinians in Gaza. In a telephone interview with Today’s Zaman, Finkelstein said Israel was a “terrorist state” created by the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians in 1948. Praising Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and the Turkish people for their courage in supporting Palestinians, Finkelstein referred to Israel as a “satanic” and “lunatic” state……”

UC Irvine’s Anti-Israel, Anti-American Hate-Fest [incl. Gabriel Piterberg, Mark LeVine, et al.]

On January 31, 2009, a conference took place at UC Irvine (UCI) titled, “Whither the Levant? The Crisis of the Nation State: Lebanon, Israel, Palestine.” Organized by the Levantine Cultural Center of Los Angeles and the Middle East Studies Student Initiative, the conference featured two documentaries about the 2006 war in southern Lebanon, three panel discussions, and a number of Middle East studies academics. In spite of the neutral sounding title, the conference was a one-sided exercise in bashing Israel and America.
