Has the Olive Tree Initiative done anything to reduce the anti-Israel rhetoric at UC Irvine?

This photo was taken from the so-called “apartheid wall” which travels throughout the State of California college campuses and recently concluded its stay at UC Irvine.  Please notice what the drawing describes as “occupied territory”.  It should speak for itself.  The question is:  Has the Olive Tree Initiative had any discernible positive impact in terms of the hateful rhetoric during “hate week” at UC Irvine and other California Campuses?  Why not ask the UC Irvine Muslim Student Union, Malik Ali, Ben White, Hatem Bazian or the so-called “Irvine 11”?

UC Irvine: The Hatred Resumes

While the Middle East and North Africa continue to roil in blood shed with governments in Libya and Syria gunning down civilians on a daily basis,  the Muslim Student Union,  fresh from its “suspension”,  presents this years edition of hypocrisy and  hatred:

Anti-Semitism: The Zionist Facade   Yisroel Dovid Weiss, a United States Haredi rabbi, is an activist and spokesman for a branch of Neturei Karta, an anti-Zionist grouping of Haredi Jews. Based in Monsey, New York, he believes that observant Jews should peacefully oppose the existence of the Israeli state: “It would be forbidden for us to have a State, even if it would be in a land that is desolate and uninhabited.”  May 9, 2011 12:00 PM, Flagpoles.   8:00 PM Biological Sciences 3.

KPPC Reports: Grand Jury Looking Into Oren Disruption

OC grand jury investigates protest at UC Irvine of Israeli diplomat’s speech

KPCC has learned that the Orange County grand jury is investigating the Feb. 2010 disruption of an Israeli diplomat’s speech at UC Irvine.

Members of UCI’s Muslim Student Union have been called to testify before the grand jury about the organization’s role in the disruption of a speech by Michael Oren, Israel’s Ambassador to the U.S.

Erwin Chemerinsky, dean of UC Irvine’s law school, says he does not believe the students who disrupted Oren’s speech should face the risk of criminal charges.

The Orange County District Attorney’s office says the law prevents it from confirming or denying any activities related to the grand jury.

ZOA Letter to UC President Yudof: UC Santa Cruz allegedly solicited funds for Hamas

“……Once again, a University of California campus was used to solicit funds that may have ended up in the hands of the terrorist group Hamas.  But this time, it was not a student group that solicited the funds or a speaker sponsored by the student group, which is what occurred at UC Irvine in violation of University of California polices and possibly in violation of federal law.  At UC Santa Cruz, it was the University itself doing the soliciting….Excerpt from ZOA  letter to UC President Mark Yudof
